Bridlington Free Press Up For Sale
Bridlingtons long running newspaper Bridlington Free Press is up for sale and heres why!
The parent company that owns the Free Press, Johnston Press, are having to put their inks to dry after accumulating a debt of over £220 Million.
Having started a strategic review of its finances last year in 2017, today in a statement to their shareholders Johnston Press stated.
"In order to assess all strategic options to maximise value to its stakeholders, the Board of Johnston Press announces today that it has decided to seek offers for the Company."
Johnston Press say they are not currently in any discussion with any potential buyers at the moment.
With JP owning around 200 newspaper titles around the UK its highly likely that a rival company will buy out the group as its their aim to sell as a single entity and not to sell a certain title on its own.
Bridlington Free Press was first launched in 1859 as a daily tabloid.
