Whats On: Armed Forces Day 2019
Armed Forces Day heads to the East Coast on 29th June with displays happening all along our coast in Bridlington and Scarborough
The day starts off with a parade with Service Association Standards, Veterans and Serving personnel, cadets from Bridlington Sea Cadets, Army Cadets and 252 Squadron Air Training Corps, Bridlington School Combined Cadet Force, Scouts, Guides and Brownies, all escorted by a fleet of ex military vehicles and flanked as our parade marshalls by motorcycles ridden by members of the Royal British Legion Riders Branch.
Following the parade the Alderson House Summer Fayre will follow at around 12:30pm.
Through the day Tour de Bridlington Event will start from 9am at Headlands School with a special Armed Forces Day fun run at 2pm.
During the day South Marine Drive road will be closed allowing many static displays, including Royal British Legion Riders, ex Military vehicles, Humberside Fire and Rescue, HM Costguard, Bridlington Army Cadet Force recruitment trailer, along with many more displays and activities including a free to use climbing wall.
Scarboroughs Armed Forces Day will include an RAF BBMF Spitfire display, RAF Tucano display, Calidus Autogyro display, RNLI Manoeuvres display and also a display from RAF Eurofighter Typhoons as well as many more activities, parades and stalls.
